Mise en scene

Mise en scene
Scene 1: (Opening sequence)Lighting:      - Mainly daylight which requires of busy Bazaar scene
• Setting:       - A busy market place
Costumes:  - Mainly shalwar kameez or ordinary clothes worn everyday.
 
• Props: No props, just the overview of a street; natural costumes and street views. Vendors, children, vegetable seller etc.
                                        

 
Scene 2:
Lighting:       - Low-key lighting through lantern, small emergency light and a white lit lamp.


• Setting:       - Small dark room with lanterns placed near the family and the kid studying.

• Costume:       - Kids wearing jeans and sweaters.      
 - Child characters wearing woolen cap and the same attire     
 - Mother wearing woolen cap and shalwar kameez
   
 - Father wearing shalwar kameez

• Props
  - A book, pen, a small broken wooden table and a lantern near the kid, studying
   
  - Food items on the floor
     
 - A toy in Surraya’s hand; her hair messy and oily


Scene 3: 
•  Lighting:
 - Natural daylight  
• Setting: 
 - A pavement in the plot
 - A couple of students studying

• Costumes:  
    - Decently dressed teacher in shalwar kameez 
• Props:
 - Chalk and board


Scene 4


• Lighting:
  - Low-key lighting
  - A small white light will be used distantly.
• Setting:
       - A small makeshift tent on a ground, in a noisy locality
• Costumes:
       - Dirty shalwar kameez
• Props:
       - Bracelets, wooden box, wicker less candle, match box, colourful threads, bed sheets, wooden planks

Scene 5
• Lighting:
       - Normal daylight
• Setting:
       - A public park
Costumes:
       - Natural shoot, hence, whatever passersby may be wearing.
• Props:
       - Placard, cardboard boxes.
